    1. Only a small item....It never ceases to amaze me what can be found on ebay... A mini of the Military Merit medal still on the original sales display card, by F.W Assmann. Not much of the silver wash left on the obverse....
    2. A maker marked, early version of the Pilot’s badge by Bruder Schneider, Wein (BSW). Obverse..
    3. An unmarked, early version of the Glider Pilot’s badge by Bruder Schneider, Wein (BSW). Obverse...
    4. An early version of the Radio Operator/Air Gunner badge by Bruder Schneider, Wein (BSW). Obverse
    5. I agree... Have see lot of photos of POW's wearing every type of award/badge all expertly carved from wood. This bar is a particularly nice piece.
    6. It's the "SA Treffen Braunschweig 1931 rally badge".. Seeing that he's also wearing a wound badge suggests he's a patient or husband.
    7. Luftwaffe Observer Badge with first pattern eagle on an early third pattern wreath...all in nickel silver. Obverse
    8. ...or good business practice in using parts left in the stores, and knowing 'Assmann' it will be the latter. Pilot's badge with first pattern eagle on an early third pattern wreath...all in nickel silver. Obverse
    9. And this is the description given on the dealer site.... "Assessed by other collectors, dealers and experts. Confirmed as original and as "one of the very best Luftwaffe Pilot badges they'd seen". A really stunning item of Luftwaffe insignia which I also had valued by others, which was more than my asking price. Every collector and dealer who has seen this has been more than just impressed. One dealer stated that this is not only down to the incredible condition, but also the fact the maker/jeweller had gone that little bit further in the detailing. He then made me aware of the extra 'fretwork' carried out around the tail feathers and 'keyhole' Believe me, when you hold this and view it close up you will be absolutely delighted."
    10. Maker mark is getting a little closer to the original.
    11. Note the grind marks under the hinge...A typical 'Deumer' characteristic
    12. Supplied by forum member, Colin F, as a warning to collectors out there. Thanks, Colin. This up-rated fake has a couple of new features that these fakers are trying... So, the obverse..
    13. I have my doubts about the (what looks to be 'G.H Osang' marked) Luftwaffe transport clasp as I've never seen an original transport clasp by this maker. Would it be possible to take a close-up shot of the maker mark?
    14. Don is spot-on... this is indeed an eagle from a political leaders collar tab and looks to be a period correct example marked RZM M1/17 for the maker, E. W. Assmann & Söhne.
    15. The artwork alone on these cards is worth the purchase... You should think about widening the scope of this thread, and make it into a database of propaganda postcards. in the meantime...
    16. These plaques were very popular. Made in various metals, finishes etc….this one in Bakelite.
    17. 'Legion Condor' medal bar and citation to Friedrich Paplitz (translator) for the non-combatant military merit cross in white.
    18. Looking forward to seeing more of this group, shiggert. Very interesting!
