    1. Hallo Jan, Sorry for the slow reply, with regards your last post, I have been traveling back to Romania and had no access to the internet, thanks for the link, but it seems you have to join to read the posts Kevin in Deva.
    2. Hallo Naxos Thanks for that info, (but I am 100% sure the ribbon is Bavarian ) and not the W?rttemberg Military Service medal in Yellow with two black stripes. What was the motto on W?rttemberg belt buckles circa WW1?? Similar to Bayern?? Kevin in Deva
    3. Hallo Gents, because I bought a couple of pieces from a chap he gave me this postcard as a gift!!! I can make out what looks like on the original card with magnifying glass the word TREUE ? on the belt buckle above a crown. The ribbon looks also to have the thin black stripes and blue bands of the Bavarian M.V.K. but I am not sure if he would have been entitled to the Cross with solid Gold medalions or not, probably the more normal III Class type in bronze / Copper. The rear of the card with inscription in pencil: Kevin in Deva.
    4. Hallo Robert Many thanks for the prompt reply, my buddy, in Bavaria, will be pleased to know his purchase is well worth the sum he paid for it. Just to clarify, which is the maker number for Eugen Schmidhaubler Pforzheim M 1 / 128 or yours M 1 / 123 ?? Kevin in Deva
    5. Hallo Carol 1, the information was supplied by a "native" Romanian with regards the bridge and CERNAVODA, maybe HE had better brush up on HIS Romanian geography I believe he also said the word on the top of the badge, is pronounced RUSS It would be interesting to find out if the badge has any conection to the Bulgarian Border Posts mentioned in the link you gave? Kevin in Deva.
    6. It came in three classes I believe Gold, Silver & Bronze, here is a picture of the rear: Kevin in Deva.
    7. Hallo Gents, Not a military one, but, quite a nice Romanian Royal Medal, given for Merit in Commerce and Industry. Found at a Flea-market in Germany, complete with original ribbon, which is often hard to source in the country of origin Kevin in Deva.
    8. Hallo Gents, While I was at a Fleamarket in Senden, Baden-W?rttemberg, my buddy, picked this item up from a gentleman who I had just obtained a iii reich 2 medal Dienstspange for WW2. The badge is in enamel and not painted, would you care to give your opinions please as to its originality? Many thanks, Kevin in Deva
    9. "They seek him here, they seek him there, they seek him every where, that damned elusive Kev from Dev" Hallo Ricky, thanks for your opinion valued as ever, Kevin in Deva.
    10. Hallo Gents, I post the following pictures for comment, the items belong to a friend here in Deva, All thats known is the bridge depicted is at CERNAVODA on the Romanian - Bulgarian Border. It appears to be made in Bronze. The mini is in a brass like material. Kevin in Deva
    11. Hallo Gents This item was picked up at a Flea-market in Immenstadt, about 14kms from Kempten Allg?u region of Bavaria about a week ago. I believe its has ribbons for: 2 X Austro-Hungary, Emp. Franz-Josef Tapferkeit or Emp. Karl Fortividini Bravery Medals. 1 X Karl Troop Cross. 1 X Military Sercice Cross. 1 X Franz Joseph Commemorative Cross. The rear shows a typical Austrian hook arrangement for fixing to pre-sewn loops on the tunic. Of course, I stand open to correction, and would welcome any advice or information from our experts out there. Kevin in Deva.
    12. Hallo Gents, Fresh from the table of Mr. Michael Autengruber at Reichtershofen, this pair: Kevin in Deva.
    13. Hallo Rheinmetall, GMIC Club Member Mr. Peter Suciu has a website at: http://www.nyc-techwriters.com/militaria/helmets.htm Which might be of some use. And this one: http://aboutww2militaria.com/index.html?ru...eel_helmets.htm but I find the prices he lists as incredible Kevin in Deva.
    14. Hallo Rheinmetall I believe first it has to be determined the helmets are WW2 vintage as the WW2 style was issued post WW2 with a different liner, there should also be some stampings and painted marks on the inside of the shell to determine which producer etc. They were also issued to various other Communist countries, the Commumist Romanians using them into the mid 1950's.Prices can vary between 35+ Euros depending on the type, condition and demand. Some of the other members here have very good information on helmets, mine was gained from selling a few I found in Romania to other collectors. Kevin in Deva.
    15. 7. 8. Any info welcome particularly with 1, 2, 4, 6, and 8. Kevin in Deva
    16. Hallo Tony may I be so bold as to add some pictures of items just obtained on a recent trip to Bavaria at various Flea-markets all are DDR related but I am not exactly sure what for. Kevin in Deva.
    17. Recent acquisition during my visit to Bavaria, Flea-market find: Kevin in Deva.
    18. No, scary was the year before when a German Militaria Dealer and his wife were murdered in their home shot in the head, the house then set on fire to hide the crime, the rumour was he had sold a lot of fake iii reich items to the Russian Mafia for big money They were so insulted they sent a hit man to settle the score. Kevin in Deva.
    19. Hallo Fran?ois with regards "post 3" Romanian Pilots Badge, in the recently published: "INSIGNELE Aviatiei Militare Romane / ROMANIAN AIRFORCE BADGES" BY Iliese Marcel. He says on page 41 the following: This picture is from the book and shows the Romanian Military Pilots Badge. Notice the Red Enamel inlay to the Royal Crown. The Romanian Airforce medal looks to be 100% original and with original ribbon too. Kevin in Deva.
    20. Hallo Ulsterman, In Gunzenhausen earlier this year, after the dealers set up for the show the building was locked up for the night, the next morning it was discovered that several locked display cabinets had been broken into and iii reich items of considerable value had been removed. I have heard speculation that somebody remained behind hidden in the hall till late at night or early morning, they emerged from hiding to steal selected items and then let themselves out through a fire exsit, there was apparantly no security in the building while the theft occured. I believe somebody posted here more info on the items taken, will look for the thread and if I find it post a link here. http://www.philipp-militaria.de/gestohlen.html Kevin in Deva.
    21. Hallo Gents this was the only WW1 Medal Bar I obtained at Reichertshoffen while on my first visit in four years to the Military show, (as I have commented elsewhere the prices of items were very high.) But I got to meet an old friend Mr. Michael Autengruber, accompanied by his very nice parents down from Lake Constance, Bavaria. No pictures were allowed to be taken in the Hall as usual the event organiser has no desire for negative publicity because iii reich items are on display, also there were armed security guards on duty throughout the Hall and on the fire exsits after the much publicised robbery at Gunsenhausen earlier in the year. Prussian E.K. 2 (stamped "R" on the ribbon ring and a "D" shaped mark on the cross ribbon ring attachment.). Hessen-Darmstadt, Konig Ernst Ludwig, Allgemeines Ehrenzeichen, "F?R TAPFERKEIT" in Silver. III Reich, 1934 Hindenberg Cross of Honour for Combatant, marked "G 10". Kevin in Deva.
    22. Hallo Gents while looking in a display case on a traders table in a Fleamarket in Oberstdorf, Bavaria. I found the following B.W.M. It was issued to: 118340 PNR. J. FARRELL. R. E. Its had a few knocks, but now rest comfortably in its new home in Transylvania. Kevin in Deva.
