    12. Hallo Jani Tiainen The MUZEUL MILITAR NATIONAL is located at; Strada Mircea Vulcanesci, 125 - 127 Sector 1, Bucharest. Open from 9.00 till 17.00 last admission at 16.00 It is very close to the GARA DE NORD Train Station. (Large Black Area on Map.) Travel down Boulavard DINICU GOLESCU take a right on to STRADA MIRCEA VULCANESCU. The musuem is on the left hand side of the road, you will see artillery pieces in front of the building. Its 2.50 Romanian Ron to go in and you have to declare if you want to make pictures, they will give you a badge to show you paying for the pictures, they check the camera memory for the number of pictures going in and coming out, (its 50 Bani per picture). See my post at: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=1594...ng+of+the+Green for pictures of the museum. The main building houses the medal collection, on my trip I never got to see it as I was busy looking at the other rooms. Also if anywhere in Bucharest you are approached by guys saying they are "Tourist Police" and want you to pay a tax do not believe them its a scam they are con-men, if they persist call "A J I T O R - Adg i tor (help) or P O L I T I A (Police). You will find most people very fiendly and helpful, avoid street people and beggers. Dont accept offers of taxi drivers in the street Use known taxi companys from the taxi ranks. Have a nice trip. PS the 19 / 20 / of May the Museum has an open day free entry for visitors!!!! Kevin in Deva

    19. Hallo Benas Your medal looks to be a standard modern medal made for Shooting Clubs it is very similar to ones used in Germany, (although the ribbon made me think of Belgium) As far as I can tell the ribbon does not relate to any particular State or region of Germany. Kevin in Deva.
    20. First ?STOLEN VALOR? arrest reported The F.B.I.has announced its first arrest based on the recently passed Stolen Valor Act. Louis Lowell McGuinn, who posed as an elite member of the Army Special Forces, could face a year in prison as the first person prosecuted under the Act. Lewis Lowell McGuinn, a Vietnam vet, represented himself as ex-Special Forces and recipient of the Distinguished Service Cross. He faces a year in jail for his lie. McGuinn was a regular at military galas, posing with a gleaming chest full of medals that symbolized a life of valor. McGuinn was caught by Mark Kimey, a veteran, when he recognized something wasn't right with McGuinn?s uniform at a military ball. He was wearing the Purple Heart, the Silver Star and the Distinguished Service Cross incorrectly. Kimey notified the Special Forces Headquarters and the 40-year lie started to unravel. Manhattan federal prosecutors used a brand new law to charge McGuinn with posing as a war hero - making the Flushing, Queens, man one of the first in the New York region to face prosecution under the Stolen Valor Act. The law, which took effect in January, makes it a felony to falsely claim to have received an award authorized for members of the U.S. armed forces. McGuinn did actually serve in Vietnam and was a private when he was discharged from the Army in 1968. Over the years, however, he ?promoted? himself up to lieutenant colonel to help him win lucrative security consulting contracts, according to prosecuters. McGuinn, also also known as Lowell Craig McGuinn, faces a year in jail. He was released on $5,000 bond after a brief court hearing. - - - - END OF ARTICLE - - - - Many more out there to be "Named and Shamed". Kevin in Deva

    22. Forget about using "Sports Stars" for advertising your products. The original way was to use a real dyed in the wool Field-Marschal to endorse your products instead. Kevin in Deva.
