Do you know if there are there any markings on it at all which would lead you to believe that it may be Luftwaffe related? I like it anyway - I think it would look cool in a Luft display!

was there not a flight related Imperial Navy insignia with a sitting hawk / eagle looking off into the distance???

Something along the lines of a pilots badge or so?? the design of the bird is somewhat similar.

Eric and Paul, exactly my thought when I saw it on ebay - to use it in an LW display - It reminds me of the Fliegererinnerungs-Abzeichen.

I got it for 5.50 Euros and it should arrive soon. Will let you know if it has any markings.

This little birdy is in my collection

It is 20mm in size, silver on a chain, with a hallmark / maker mark of two tiny fish standing on their tails.
