I got the Global War on Terror Expeditionary Service Medal given to me for my time, before the ICM came out.

I got the Global War on Terror Expeditionary Service Medal given to me for my time, before the ICM came out.

Me too Paul, I got the Iraq Campaign Medal because my unit was extended past our original orders on two occasions. I think this was an anomaly as most who served in 2003-2004 got the Global war on Terror Expeditionary Medal and later had to choose between that or the new Iraq Campaign Medal when it was approved. During Desert Storm my unit was presented with the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal while we were in Saudi Arabia as part of Operation Desert Shield. When we returned home we were given the new Southwest Asia Service Medal for Desert Storm. Scott.
