MichaW Posted July 15, 2007 Author Posted July 15, 2007 ... better pic ...Hi Micha,Could you please post some bigger scans without the editing?ThanksPaul
Paul R Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 ... nobody an opinion?I am not an authority on these insignia, but I will get some members who do know about them to take a look!
Scott Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Paul, I'm not an authority on these by any stretch, but one thing I look for is the stitching quality on the swastika. On the original eagles I've seen, the swastika is symetrical with nice, sharp 90-degree angles and superb attention to detail on the stitching. Your eagle looks fairly good until I get to the swaz, which seems less-well executed than the rest of the eagle. I may be way off base in my opinion/observation.Scott

It is not my bird.
Bob Lyons Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 I agree wih Scott, eagle looks good but the swaz is not correct, it looks to me like it was oncede-nazified, and someone has had a swastika re-affixed, there seems to be a slightly different backingto the part where the swastika is too, so my guess is a good bird with a postwar replaced swastika.Bob
MichaW Posted July 25, 2007 Author Posted July 25, 2007 Thank you very much, the owner tell me the swastica was made 1944 in Paris from a french dressmaker???
Bob Lyons Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Hmmm, I would still be inclined to think the swastika was added postwar.....Bob
Jos Le Conté Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Hmmm, I would still be inclined to think the swastika was added postwar.....BobThere's a good chance...Eagle itself looks OK, swas looks odd.., would like to see a sharp close-up of that area..Jos.
