Michael
Hi all. A good friend from Russia gave me these. They were ground dug. Are these flight tokens from the Stalingrad airlift? What does the shape and color mean? Mike

Michael
Hi guys! Well, here's what I know so far. They seem to be Luftwaffe cargo loading tags. They were used on airfields under a direct attack or siege situation to simplify the loading/unloading process. I've had several people tell me this. The color and shape of the tag indicates the weight class and whether the contents are fragile. The story about them being Stalingrad airlift tokens seems to be a common one attached to these but there's nothing to back that up. If anybody has anything to add I'd like to know.Mike
