Scowen Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 The badge (as I informed the seller on the other forum) is the coat of arms for N?rnberg. However what the significance is of it being worn on the arm I do not know.SorryDon
Taz Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 (edited) Paul,It's a German WW II Woman's Auxiliary Service uniform, I assume the badge denotes that she worked in the N?rnberg area.Regards Eddie Edited September 13, 2007 by Taz

James Clark Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 (edited) I think this is a female member of the Reichsarbeitsdienst. The RAD was organised on a regional/local basis so I would have thought it is reasonable to suppose that this lady belonged to a N?rnberg branch of the RAD. I don't think there's anything to indicate that she was an auxilliary to any particular military organisation. Edited September 13, 2007 by James Clark
Nick Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Most Female Auxiliaries adopted the uniform of the service they were attached to, as James says this uniform seems to be very much RADwJ. I would like to see a close up of what she is wearing on her neck and the badge to the left of the lanyard. However other non military auxiliary branches may have also used this uniform as indicate by Eddie or she is RADwJ attached to another auxiliary service in Nurnberg.
Taz Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Yup James,Sounds like a good call. That would probably be under Labour Corps Auxiliaries, which is why its on the cover of the Osprey Book German WW II Woman's Auxiliary Service uniforms. This would be the basic service dress.Regards
