Guest Rick Research
NAUGHTY Otto Rupprecht wearing his EK2 in front of his Bavarian awards! But he had every--if inexplicable--right to look pleased-- that is a THIRD Class MVO with Swords there, NOT a 4th, which he got as an Oberstleutnant zD 30 August 1915. AND being worn backwards! No unit on the roll and I don't find him in the Honor Rank List!

Chris Boonzaier
Christophe posted a photo of General d'Elsa in the field. Here's one of him all dressed up! [attachmentid=11889] I served with a distant relative of his... I have never known someone who looks more like a skull with skin!
Solomon
May I introduce this gentleman? It is Georg Heinrich Kirchhof, born in Detmold in 1837, Oberst in IR No. 129, wearing beside the house order Lippe-Detmold 3rd class with swords also the house order Lippe-Detmold 2nd class with swords at the ring as one out of 11, who got this award. So the photo should be pretty rare :-) BR Roman
