Christian Zulus Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Dear Christophe,I did a big mistake with the artist of that magnificent aviation painting :It's Mark Postlethwaite http://www.posart.com/ , who is also an active member at http://ehangar.com/index.php .I already corrected my two postings.Sorry for my mistake ...Best regards ChristianNo one to try this one ? I'll try tomorrow night, if noone succeeds since...Cheers.Ch.
JimZ Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Mmm - a big mistake indeed. You'd probably have found yourself in a 5 star Gulag in Winter in Siberia for that in the USSR!!I do not have the time to research this as I am mega busy with other things till this evening! But the jet is an ME 262.... and with the pilot being a 2 times HSU and having a kill board as long as heck, I can pretty well assure you its an uncommon incident and not that hard to research.Jim
Knarf Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Hallo,it is not so difficult but it is hard to find the German pilot. I have found the manufacturers number of the german plane but not the pilotFrank
Christian Zulus Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 (edited) Hallo,it is not so difficult but it is hard to find the German pilot. I have found the manufacturers number of the german plane but not the pilotFrankDear Frank,o.k., if no one finds the name of that poor German Unteroffizier of the 1./KG(J) 54 till tommorrow midnight MEZ, I will take the manufacturers number of the ME 262 instead of it .Best regards Christian Edited March 14, 2008 by Christian Zulus
Lapa Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Christian,How about this:1) What do we see at this painting?- aircrafts involved- pilots involved (name all 3)- when exactly happened that incident- where exactly happend that incident. Messershmitt Me 262 and Lavochkin La-7. Ivan Nikitovich KOZHEDUB Dmitri TITARENKO Kurt LANGE. 15 February 1945 (although it seems to be incorrectly described as being the 19 by the publisher). Over the river Oder ("south of Frankfurt ... following the river Oder") 2) What was the final improvement (armament) of the Soviet aircraft on the painting at the end of the GPW, which made it to the most superior piston-engined fighter in WW II? (That improvement is not shown at the painting!)The use of 3 20mm cannons Berezina UB-20 with a capacity of 135 rounds each.3) What was the nationality of the Soviet designer of that aircraft, which military rank did he achieve and which where his most superior titles & prizes (quantity & years of awarding) he got?. Lavochkin Semen Alekseevich was born in Smolensk in a Jewish family. General Major of Aviation Engineering (1944). Hero of Socialist Labor: 1943 and 1956 Stalin Prize: 1941, 1943, 1946 and 1948 and, as they say, received many orders and medals, among which 3 Orders of Lenin Marc
