laurentius
Dear Alex, that picture is not from the Royal Trust, it is a German auctionhouse which has sold many 'post-1918 decorative pieces' some of which with garter. Looking at the quality and design of this badge I would not consider it to be an original. Kind regards, Laurentius
Alex K
You could quite probably correct, I was working from memory, maybe a privately made piece, based on quality, I wonder if the official piece followed a similar design, I assume there was one. Alex K
Just another update, another one with the garter, not a star but allied to one, nice mini, owned by Prince Albert, consort to Queen Victoria, Royal collection I assume

I'm sorry to be such a wisenheimer, again, but this is totally not Garter related: the blue ribbon reads "FIDELITER / CONSTANTER", which is the motto of the Saxon-Ernestine house order... whose princesses decoration this is! The design might well be Garter inspired, however!
