Order of Military Merit with Grand Star

    Recommended Posts

    Great Anatoly,

    you surprise us always.

    Are both orders from Silver?

I looked yesterday at Order of National Merits and found out that there is hallmark which I couldn't identify.

This is the same hallmark on your image, bottom left. I've never seen these other hallmarks.

    best regards

    waldemar

    Waldemar!

Seems as silver and hallmark "925"...

Central part with wreath is the same like on 2-nd class!

When I took this order in my hands at first time I though that this is fake star with original central part from 2-nd cl!

But who wants and need to do that? And why?

    Hello all,

A friend remind me of these topic. Few weeks ago I got the same type. Order for military merit 1st class with 6 torches.

It has the same features, 2 holes in 10 and 4 position. And the same 3 stamps (just in different order )

I have never seen stemps "K" or stamp "925" for silver on any of Yugoslav orders

    Order measures are:

    Star: 66.9mm other 1st classes (5 torches) I have are 69-70mm

    Torch: 44,7mm other 1st classes (5 torches) I have are 45,3-45,6mm

    Sword: 45,6mm other 1st classes (5 torches) I have are 45,5-45,7mm

    weight: 61,5g  other 1st classes (5 torches) I have are 74,5-76,2g

Does anybody know more about these type of order or these stamps?

At the look of it it does not appear to be a copy, if it is a copy why put so much trouble into stamps and all the details just to make it 20% lighter and 5% smaller?

The K mark is known to be used by Teodor Krivak, a medal maker which has made a number of other high ranking Yugoslavian orders. They are very rare, but are known to exist. Apart from this one,I have also seen Order of brotherhood and unity first class with this same mark. As well as some other, but i cannot remember of the top of my head. Would have to dig a bit through my archive.
