Gordon Williamson
Only ever seen one other for sale, a few weeks ago on Weitze's update and I missed it.Rarest of the rare. This one arrived today thanks to Markus Bodeux and Bernd Weddeking. Hopefully this and the others that arrived with it gives me the complete set of Kriegsmarine U-Boat ribbons, so I can start on Imperial U-Boats now. Gordon Williamson
Whats the 1st one for Gordon? The whole set eh. Does that include surface vessel's also? Thats quite a feat, congratsComplicated to explain, the Erprobungskommando f?r Unterseeboote (EKU) was responsible for testing new submarines (and torpedoes) and came under the Erprobungskommando f?r Kriegsschiffneubauten (EKK) which as the name suggests had overall responsibility for testing new warships. In 1940, the EKU became the Unterseebootsabnahmekommando (UAK) which undertook trials and tesing of new U-boats. Yes, the "set" includes the U-Boat flotillas, training schools, shore establishments, and related surface ships such as tenders and escorts.
