Guest Rick Research
Interesting-- you'd think they'd have had enough on hand to get through on existing pre-war contract stock. Orrrrr..... I wonder if it's a Horthy era Hungarian wearing replacement?
Eric Stahlhut
i was thinking more along the lines of those zinky austrian wound medals or those zinky bavarian mvk examples
VtwinVince
A nice example in "Scheissmetall", I like it.
Christian L
not the same decoration ... but as there are some similarities in design and material i thought i'll post it here as well ...
saschaw
Christian L, is your's a "Milit?r-Ehrenzeichen II. Klasse" or a "Krieger-Verdienstmedaille"? I'm with Rick and would say those are wearing replacements from post 1918, Hungary not unlikely but might be Austrian, German etc. Especially if Christian's is a MEZ2 I'd say those are rather German than Hungarian made. I'm pretty sure those are not late war awarded examples as those were real silver threw all times from what I know.

chechaco1
Probably a copy. Personally, I observe traces of casting. Weight 21 grams, diameter 39 mm. A picture of an item from one of the auctions. The images for some reason did not load, writes that the waiting failed, although the type and size are doaustable, so I gave a link to the auctioneer. If someone manages to upload images for the story from there to here, it will be nice. https://auction.ru/offersnapshot/191337836771404.html#
