Claudio Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Hi Everybody! My little brother Marco just added another fine single mounted RAO 4th class. This is marked J . H . W.: Do you know what that is for? I found in my files just a maker/Hersteller that might be correct if it was not for the order of the initials: Wilm = H. J. Wilm, Berlin, Hof- und Silberschmiede Is my assumption correct? Thanks in advance for your kind replies.Ciao,Claudio
Deruelle Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Hi Claudio, I have read the Court Jewelers of the World from Jacob and it is probably J.H. Werner : Freidrichstrasse 173 Berlin. Jacob said that "on all pieces their mark was J.H.W."Christophe
Biro Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 ClaudioChristophe is correct - 'JHW' would be Werner (see Andreas's site for more...)Marshall
Stogieman Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 Yep, agree Werner, agree... fabulous. Claudio, you need to get your brother to join us!!
Claudio Posted October 19, 2005 Author Posted October 19, 2005 On behalf of my brothers many thanks for the nice comments. The reason why my brother is not posting is that his English, although not so bad, is not fluent, especially in writing. Furthermore he's more a quiet and discrete guy than his brother! Ciao,Claudio
Stogieman Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 Aw, C'mon Marco, my Engleesh is not so good either. My German, French, Italian and Lithuanian is pretty ragged as well. Come out and play!! It will be good for all of us!!
