Noor Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Hi all,Here is some of the stuff what I just picked up. All the extra information would be more then welcome! 1. "For Bravery" medal (za otvagu)Well worn. Owner had added the safety pin. Nice low number 236 593 . Paul J. Schmitt "Echoes of War - Researching Soviet Military Decorations" lists it around 1943 February-March.
Noor Posted August 30, 2008 Author Posted August 30, 2008 2. OGPW 2nd classOwner had replaced missing hammer and sickle with the cap badge similar device. Job very well done! The number of the award is 114 339 . Awarded probably around 1944 June?
Noor Posted August 30, 2008 Author Posted August 30, 2008 3. OGPW 1st class 1985 issueNice small numbered OGPW 1st class with the document. Awarded to Melnis (pretty sure its must be Melnits) Anton Franzevits. Number 567 414 .
Noor Posted August 30, 2008 Author Posted August 30, 2008 4. OGPW 1st class 1985 issueJust one other OGPW 1st class from 1985. I got it because there is shalow cercle at the base of the screw post. Some specific maker? How many different manufactures did them in 1985? Number 138 4127 .
Riley1965 Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 :jumping: VERY NICE!!! I would definately research the Bravery Medal and the OPW 2nd Class. The OPW 1st Class may yield some interesting results for past awards. Doc
Noor Posted August 30, 2008 Author Posted August 30, 2008 (edited) 5. Group with the Red Star and "For Bravery" medalSupposed to be one group. Also I got "orden ticket booklet" but not the owner name .There is name engraved on the Red Star reverse (probably because to easly identifiable it, if someone stole it from hospital, sauna, etc.). Very hard to read it and its don't make sence much - Ognev Nakob(v)a. Red Star number 941 825 . December 1944-January 1945? I hope its not LS award ."For Bravery" medal (za otvagu)Number 240 2832 . Awarded May 1945 Edited August 31, 2008 by Noor
Noor Posted August 30, 2008 Author Posted August 30, 2008 6. Order of the Red StarNice one, with the number 367 983 . I am pretty sure its not the LS award this time, so worth to research! Awarded probably end of 1943?
Noor Posted August 30, 2008 Author Posted August 30, 2008 7. Order of the Red StarJust prefect shape Red Star with very high number - 349 9337 . Must be Long Serice award from 1956.
