    Some my new Soviet stuff

    Recommended Posts

    Hi all,

Here is some of the stuff what I just picked up. All the extra information would be more then welcome!

    1. "For Bravery" medal (za otvagu)

Well worn. Owner had added the safety pin. Nice low number 236 593 . Paul J. Schmitt "Echoes of War - Researching Soviet Military Decorations" lists it around 1943 February-March.

    2. OGPW 2nd class

Owner had replaced missing hammer and sickle with the cap badge similar device. Job very well done!

The number of the award is 114 339 . Awarded probably around 1944 June?

    4. OGPW 1st class 1985 issue

Just one other OGPW 1st class from 1985. I got it because there is shalow cercle at the base of the screw post. Some specific maker? How many different manufactures did them in 1985? Number 138 4127 .

There is name engraved on the Red Star reverse (probably because to easly identifiable it, if someone stole it from hospital, sauna, etc.). Very hard to read it and its don't make sence much - Ognev Nakob(v)a. Red Star number 941 825 . December 1944-January 1945? I hope its not LS award :cheeky: .

    Number 240 2832 . Awarded May 1945

    Noor,

I don't have any doubts about it, it is a nice original one. I was just wondering if it might be the full-ring variation as they occur in that SN range.

My Russian still is horrible. What does "Otshen horozo" mean?

As far I remember, it means "very good". Thanks all of your comment Doc

The first pattern bravery medal is great!! I love it! You should get it researched ASAP!

I will try to do it in the future, if I keep those awards. There is more stuff on the way coming weeks, so I first wait them arrive as well. :cheeky:
