For the Serbian "Ljotic" Saint George badge, there are two variations.

One is with Pin and catch and numbers location on the left middle side ( like with the badges on the photos from the previous page) and the other variation is with Nuts, two of them, Up and down of the badge.

Now about the numbering, seems the series made with pin and catch was larger in number and they have indeed zero in front, I have seen original with 0******

The ones with nuts attaching device, are with low numbers ( three mostly ) and no zero in front and you can find them on the right side of the upper Nut.

The two badges that Paja brought pictures are indeed copies, the numbers are similar like those, but they didn't do so good job ;)

( The original pieces have "jumby" numbers- by that I mean not always in a straight line - and these numbers are not the same visually as the original ones).

I am sorry that I do not have pictures to provide, I do not posses a Ljotic Saint George badge.....

To be honest I haven't had a chance to see variant with two nuts.

About the numbering I saw badge with number 01XX with pin and catch on the back side. Also one numbered 17XX in bad shape with same type of pin as on those fake badges and that's about it. Both had numbers in "northeastern" part of the reverse.

What do you think about this one?

    1.JPG 2.jpg 3.jpg 4.jpg 5.jpg

    Seller's description:

"WWII-SERBIA: Memorial nail for the dedication of the Chetnik flag in 1941.

The badge is made of gold-plated Brass forging high pressure (pressing punching).

Application skull with bones made of matt silver-plated metal. On the back is printed stamp manufacturers, manufaktutre "KOVNICA AD BELGRADE".

and is welded to the nail with which the badge scored (attached) for wooden spear flag.

The badge is well maintained has original patina, is not purified.

    Dimensions: 51.5 x 34,5mm"

My opinion is this is fake. It just doesnt look right.

All of the above badges, copies and really feel bad for the Ebay members that spend their hard earning cash on these items, I do not wish to say garbage due respect to the Original themselves and what these things trying to imitate... :/

In some months, the guys will come here to promote their collection and they will have a big suprise from the answers here and that's the good thing of this forum.

These badges are all very well done copies !

Not exactly, Bubbles and Soldering all over the place, you will slowly learn to recognize them from miles...

As the Chetnik daggers concern, thank you Paja once more for the photos and scaning the web for us.

We said about them, nothing new, the same old "Leskovac made" products, popping up once more form the same seller.

These skull and cross bone badges scare me, some look excellent quality for fakes :D one thing I've noticed is the consistent patina on some

of the fake pieces, almost looks like they are made out of cement with a very grain like appearance :D

Thanks all for posting these and getting us more educated on them :)

I'm writing on behalf of a friend who wishes to know if his badges are original or not.

Being that I am far from expert for this field he would be very grateful to hear 2nd opinions.

    Many thanks in advance!
