Some may have seen those single medals on German Ebay as a result of the German law prohibiting Ebay to allow the sale of III.Reich Items. I managed to get a picture of the original group. Now destroyed forever. the pieces were sold to different buyers. Very sad. :hitler: It is the Venezuela bar.

Or put the blame not entirely on the morons who MAKE the rules... but on the cretins who OBEY them. :speechless:

    Wolverines!!!!!

Unfortunately, there are so few people these laws impact that if they stood up and refused they would seem like some sort of Nazi "resurrectionist" and crushed.

    Indeed,

When a group is split it is the seller who is to blame.... he could have sold it elsewhere.

Well, the seller said she tried 3 times to sell the group on Ebay, but was delisted even with covered swastikas. It is Ebay who is to blame, trying to enforce stupid policies.

And I bet she got 100 emails from ebayers offering to buy the stuff as a lot.

She should have just taken the highest offer.

People used to sell BEFORE ebay as well, its not the only way. I bet she got a dozen or so offers, then thought she would rather maximise the profit and split it on ebay.

Anyway, whatever. There are plenty of ways to sell, even without ebay. Anyone with google can sell anything today.

Somebody just told me I should put my entire collection out in the driveway and run my car over everything--again and again and again.

So it's not MY fault when it is all destroyed.

When greed meets stupidity any excuse will do.

Anyone who obeys eBay rules should be sterilized, their children taken away (and sterilized) and their finances put into legal conservatorship

because morons should not be allowed to breed or handle money.

15 years ago I was talking with an old man. he was a young german Leutnant in italy and see the bombing of monte casino with his one eyes in this time.

becoming a american POW he gets some sort of school lessons or brain washing from the camp commander once in the week. the officer, in civil life a lawyer, ask them: who was the greatest german? - thinking about this they say him it was Goethe - the american obviously never heard this name before: how much money have he got in the year? - the POW try to calculate the old thaler in $$$: maybe around 50000 dollar a year.

    - the teacher: NO, the greatest german of all times was Max Schmelling, he makes millions in five minutes!!!

    that's how capitalism work

If there has ever been anyplace other than eCrap where items being SOLD were first DESTROYED... I've never heard of it.

    That's LUNACY, not capitalism. :catjava:

    Chris,

actually, when you list stuff on Ebay in sensitive areas, the itmes apear with a time buffer. She told me they tossed one out after 5 hours, th other times after 2-3 hours.

Once cut the Emails were pooring in.

...all things aside, is it possible to identify this one? (Meaning the bar in the picture)

Come on guys, we all learn from history and move on.

I've been puzzling over it, Andreas:

"Venezuela 1902-03" is of course a NAVAL bar. There were literally only a few strays-- Marine officers who MIGHT have gone back into the army, just to confuse us.

But I'm having problems (aside from the bizarre precedence of a Colonial Medal in front of the SA3aX and Hindenburg CrossX) figuring out the Wehrmacht 18 and 4--

sea duty outside German home waters counted double towards Imperial Navy long service awards, as did the war years. Any naval personnel who were off Venezuela in 1902 HAD to have received the XXV Years Service Cross. I've seen naval groups with entry dates as late as 1907 with an XXV for overseas and war double time.

    The SA3aX indicates a Captain-- let's say Kapit?nleutnant.

    To be a REAL bar...

this person would have HAD to have resigned from the military BEFORE 1914 with enough break in service NOT to have ended up with that 1920 XXV... and then been called back up 20 years later to go BACK into the military AGAIN at a mid-rank level with over 30 years since joining initially.

I can imagine that there COULD have been somebody with that bizarre a career who ended up as a Wehrmacht (E) officer-- I've got the paperwork for a Mecklenburg cavalry reserve officer who went from always dR service long before and during the war to (E) regular status in the 1930s...

but a DOUBLE previous retiree would be very very strange indeed!

If the bar had had the 25 and 12 on there, I'd be looking for who it might have been.
