Claudius
On the last Hohnhorst photo, do I see the faint outline of a wound badge? Did Hohnhorst get wounded in WWI or some earlier engagement?Nice Japanese Rising Sun(?) award on the end.

Guest Rick Research
Note the usual weird spectrum reversal which makes the dark blue look lighter than the red stripes-- a real problem if only ribbon bars show! I think that said "Adolf" Friedrichs--compare the handwritten "Abende." I'm surprised to see the old high collar double breasted knee length pre-war frock coat on a young wartime Leutnant--who looks 16 in 1919! Can't really tell from the Oldenburg/Hamburg combination if army or navy. He sure was a "really old" duelling club university student... returning to adolescent silliness (as if HE had "manhood" to prove to anybody!!!) after losing years out of his normal life for the war. Looks about 30! Too bad no name on back of that one! :(
