    Hi

Received today two photos of one officer with Oldenburg FA cross 1st class. Like I remember seeing this face somewhere I look through the history regiment Nr. 91. And what I find : the same photo with the name of this officer.

Ernst von Hohnhorst and later Pour le M?rite winner (6 may 1918).

    Have a look

This photo is not in my collection and it come from the Beyreiss's book. We can see von Hohnhorst with his Pour le M?rite and the unique Offier crosswith swords and wreath of the House and Merit Order of Duke Peter Friedric Ludwig of Oldenburg. He received this cross on 29.10.1918.

On the last Hohnhorst photo, do I see the faint outline of a wound badge? Did Hohnhorst get wounded in WWI or some earlier engagement?

Nice Japanese Rising Sun(?) award on the end.

Note the usual weird spectrum reversal which makes the dark blue look lighter than the red stripes-- a real problem if only ribbon bars show! :speechless1:

I think that said "Adolf" Friedrichs--compare the handwritten "Abende." I'm surprised to see the old high collar double breasted knee length pre-war frock coat :Cat-Scratch: on a young wartime Leutnant--who looks 16 in 1919! :speechless1:

Can't really tell from the Oldenburg/Hamburg combination if army or navy. He sure was a "really old" duelling club university student... returning to adolescent silliness (as if HE had "manhood" to prove to anybody!!!) after losing years out of his normal life for the war. Looks about 30!

Too bad no name on back of that one! :(
