Chip
Tom,I think this "BL" board has been discussed before. I think it was a Saxon doctor's board that was hijacked and used for some non-military purpose (Sch?tzenverein, etc.).Chip
Chris Boonzaier
So simple yet sooooo good.Today I finally picked up the set of boards that would grace the Jacket that has been laying around patiently for so long.....155 IR (I hope... at least....)One of the BIG Verdun units, from the 10 RD. Chip
Saxon Major GeneralstabChristophe,I often wonder about thes numberless boards. Who wore them and why. Garde and staff are possibilities to be sure, but one never really knows for sure.Chip Edited May 26, 2009 by Chip
Deruelle
In Saxon RL from 1914, there is few officers with that grade on Staff. For mether are a pre-war shoulderboards. But I'm not a specialist like you. That's why I ask you first to be sure Christophe
Chip
Christophe,There are other possibilities like non-regimental officers, retired officers, etc. The underlay color on this one looks more scarlet to me than Karmasinrot, but that could just be the scan or the color values on my computer. I agree with you that is looks more to be something from before the war, but one cannot be certain of that without knowing what branch it is supposed to be. Regardless, it's a nice piece.Chip Edited May 27, 2009 by Chip
