Paul R
Damage definitely came from behind... I sure hope that it did not come off it's owner like that!
gregM
:banger: I had this one with only 4 seconds left in the auction.Nice cross Eric--I like this one. It has a lot of charactor and is a seldom seen version of the KMST crosses. Edited April 10, 2009 by gregM
buellmeister
It still deserves a good home.. Glad you one it!Regards,Joel
Eric Stahlhut
i did my best to clean it up--it was pretty gnarly looking when it arrived. probably worse than depicted at auction. again, sorry man i've had more time to devote towards bidding lately than i have had in a very long time. torn rotator cuff! Naxos
Very nice cross Eric!I agree with Paul; What really happened to this cross we will never know but like Paul said, it was definitely hit from behind while attached by it's needle. Allow me to speculate: it appears as if the person was shot from behind (the projectile exiting the chest directly behind the EKI pushing it away from the tunic and in the process bending cross and needle). Eric Stahlhut
i agree Hardy and it's a poignant reminder of what this award ultimately signifies. it's just hard for me to think about it sometimes when i look at my collection. rather morbid, but part of the entire picture

Motorhead
The damage could have also be done from waste sorting! That happened to one of my KMST crosses! And-have you noticed the way of marking? Not the "common" relief marking",the letters are punched in! Bloody hard to find(I'm still searching for one of these...).Well,sometimes you loose and sometimes the others are winning Micha
