ccj
Here's a very interesting, to me, ribbon bar ID'd to Hauptmann Geissel from Pionner Bat. Nr. 4.Nice Anhalt ribbon bar.
RAO
Hello, are you sure that this ribbonbar is from a Hptm. Geissel? Thanks and greetings, Mike
Guest Rick Research
Gie?el had a KO4 before the war.I don't find any other "suspects" in Inf Rgt 93 right away though. I like the early M1915 "crank handle" ribbon bar.
RAO
And a Hptm. Gie?el had the HOH3X in 1917.Regards Mike
ccj
Maybe he removed the KO4 and replace it with the HOH3X in 1917. Mike, do you have someone in mind????
RAO
No, I've just checked Hptm. Geissel and can not find him with HOH3X but a Hptm. Gie?el with HOH3X.Best regards, Mike

ccj
I guess the biggest problem is I may have written Geissel when is should be Gie?el.
Guest Rick Research
You baaaaad. You try treek gnomes, bad mon!!!Well, I couldn't find anybody else. Anhalt's Rolls for everything have disappeared, but since their main troop unit was IR 93--and no matches there-- I'd say Gie?el (hold down ALT and hit 0223 over on the numerical keypad right side of keyboard for that lovely B shaped double s) was doing the Fashion StatementWAR AWARDS ONLY here. Seems strange to omit a single ribbon, but we've seen that before. In this case he may not have wanted to follow Prussian regulations of the time and put a mere peacetime gong ahead of his Anhalt war awards. In this case, the Ernestine makes all the difference since it is not simply an Anhalt group with normal Prussian stuff. You've got Gie?el, spot on.
ccj
Oh, the old "ALT 0223" trick... gets'm every time..Well, it must not work in Arkansas... maybe Bill and Hilary took that with them. Edited May 24, 2009 by ccj

I am ALMOST fully re-trained on Krause System, having had MY own Rick Version for many pre-computer years.
