Riley1965 Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 THIS THREAD IS DEDICATED TO MEDICAL SERVICE UNIFORMS & INSIGNIA. Doc
Riley1965 Posted May 26, 2009 Author Posted May 26, 2009 This is the Service uniform of a Navy Medical Service polkovnik (colonel). This the first Naval Medical uniform in my collection. Doc
Paul R Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 That is one beautiful uniform. I do not remember seeing any Medical uniforms here before. Is the massive ribbon bar original to the tunic?
Riley1965 Posted May 26, 2009 Author Posted May 26, 2009 It is sewn to the uniform. But I don't see any signs of messing with it. I have a lot of Soviet Medical service uniforms that I'll start posting here. Doc
Riley1965 Posted May 26, 2009 Author Posted May 26, 2009 Major of the Medical Service uniform with the purple boards and collar tabs Doc
seb16trs Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 I believe this strawbery piping to be medical general service; instead the caducea with red piping would be medical service within the infantry (or tanks in the case of black piping) division.
seb16trs Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 a named 1958 set coming from Kiev; the parade cap was comon with the service uniform for old vets... I have the service cap too and three kinds of breeches.

DocBased upon his ribbons, he may be trackable! No WW2 affilation either. Chances are that he may still be alive? I can hardly wait to see your other pieces!Seb...WOW! Why does that 1958 tunic have a green branch color?
seb16trs Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 about the 1969 uniform: the medals don't belong to the uniform, but they are a set coming from A.Merezhko which belonged to a another real doctor from Kiev. I just put the medals on the jacket for photo purpose. The real doctor was a lieutenant-colonel.

seb16trs Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 The Doctor was a Stalingrad vet?!veteran of the Stalingrad front, yes.
meffert Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 may I add one to these lovelies? M22 Komdiv from Moscow region. I also have a navy m43 parade with green stripes on the epaulets that would go with a medical officer but not the snake & chalice. Maybe another technical branch...or one went with epaulets that were close enough.
slava1stclass Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Gents, This colonel's tunic is currently available on the well-known auction site.Regards,slava1stclass
meffert Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Similar but with silk background to boards and green background to collar tabs. Love the M43's...

The next one up is Chief/Master (I can't remember which until I wake up) Medical Technician Badge. It has a wreath around the star. I would have to be an E-7 or higher for that. Doc
