gingerbread Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 (edited) Hi I am very happy to share with all of you my last find. It's an authentic u-boat table, i have found this one in an antique shop in St Nazaire. A side of the table was broken and the other was partialy. I don't know why the table survived from the war, i think that it is broken since the war and had been replaced by a new one on a St Nazaire U-boat after a patrol. Here pics before and during the renovation: Regards Ben Edited August 16, 2009 by gingerbread

Norm F Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Very interesting artifact! Thanks for posting. It would be great to see a photo of it after your restoration in a nice display if possible. I'm surprised by the background in your period photos; I never thought one would see all that wooden cabinetry in a U-boot. Best regards, ---Norm
