It's an authentic u-boat table, i have found this one in an antique shop in St Nazaire. A side of the table was broken and the other was partialy. I don't know why the table survived from the war, i think that it is broken since the war and had been replaced by a new one on a St Nazaire U-boat after a patrol. I'm surprised by the background in your period photos; I never thought one would see all that wooden cabinetry in a U-boot.
