Komtur Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 I am searching for informations and portraits of Colin Freiherr von Halkett (22.11.1867 - 30.8.1924) In 1914 he was as Major and Bataillonskommandeur in the Saxon IR 134 (Plauen). Before the war he got the Albrechts-Order knight 1st class and the officers service cross. On 26.12.1914 he got the St. Henry knight. He retired as Oberst a. D. Thanks in advance, Komtur.

Komtur Posted May 5, 2010 Author Posted May 5, 2010 Bravo!!! descended from the hero of Waterloo undoubtedly. Yup. One of these heros was his grandfather Freiherr Hugh Halkett:
Komtur Posted May 5, 2010 Author Posted May 5, 2010 ... the other one the brother of Freiherr Hugh Halkett, Sir Colin Halkett:
Deruelle Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Hi, Nice restoration, great job. Can you tell me if there is hallmark on St Henry and on Merit Order please ? Thanks Christophe
Komtur Posted June 4, 2010 Author Posted June 4, 2010 (edited) There are no hallmarks on both orders. The Saxon Merit Order ist the one of Halkett. The St Henry was missing, therefore I had to buy another one. The seller offered it as made by Scharffenberg in the early war years. Regards, Komtur. Edited June 4, 2010 by Komtur
