rujab Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Hallo Today I finally recieved my Medal-Bar,would like to find out who was the person that wore it.I am asking foor help. The Medal is from Hannover ``24 März 1813. 18.Juni 1913 It only has to do with them or the Hessens ??Do the Hannoveraner have an Award list What are the once which are missing.I would appreciate any help. Regards Rudi
HeikoGrusdat Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Nice bar Rudi..... I would say we have two possibilities for the missing pieces: 1. KO4 + AEZ2 or 2. KO3 + RAO4 seems to be the bar of a NCO and later official (some sort of...) , in my eyes - unfortunately - no (or nearly no...) way to find him ... But again , very nice bar !!! Grüße Heiko
Paul C Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 It is an enlisted mans bar and I do not think that there is much chance to ID the owner.
Daniel Krause Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Ohhhh...nice one! screams to be a Paymaster with KO4 and AEZ. Greetings Daniel
HeikoGrusdat Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 As a paymaster with KO4 and AEZ he must have had more than the 9 year service medal , no? I would guess the two missing pieces were awarded as a cilvil man , not in military service anymore.....
Claudius Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Doesn't anyone find that Hessen Order w/swords on the end a strange position for the combatant award?
HeikoGrusdat Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Doesn't anyone find that Hessen Order w/swords on the end a strange position for the combatant award? Claudius, this medal bar is built up in a prussian mounting precedence - so this one in last place is the first "foreign" not prussian award on the bar...everything ok with it!
Daniel Krause Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 @ Heiko, Paymasters were former career NCO´s. They got their Long Service Award according their years as NCO. As Paymaster (Level 1st Lt) they were Beamte and not entitled for another LS Award until 1914. Greetings Daniel
HeikoGrusdat Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Thank you Daniel, never thought that was the procedure for paymasters too....
saschaw Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Thanks Daniel! Thought they would have received them, but it makes pretty sense. So this must be (I agree with you it just screams) a Zahlmeister's ca. 1913 bar: New style long service award. In 1914 he probably would have received the XXV cross, as soon as he was allowed to. Now just to check the rank lists for a guy with KO4, AEZ, HP4X...
VtwinVince Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Really outstanding bar, particularly with the Hessen award. Although an NCO's award, you don't see them often on spangen.
HeikoGrusdat Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Bad weather tonight..........could not sleep...........but I found no paymaster with that combination Best suspect I can offer , maybe someone can check this with any source for a AEZ or RAO after 1905 , is : Festungs-Oberbauwart Demmerle from Mainz , listed in the DOA 04/05 with KO4 , EK2 , HssP5X , D70/71 and PrZM I know the DA is missing , but the DOA is often not complete with all entries........
rujab Posted August 10, 2010 Author Posted August 10, 2010 Hallo Heiko Den hatte ich auch schon auf meiner Liste, im DOA 1908/9 steht er noch genauso da. Gruss Rudi
HeikoGrusdat Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm............let`s play a game............. he is a long serving old man...... what about the possibility (given that it is Mr.Demmerle) that it is not a AEZ missing but a KO3 + RAO4 - I don`t know how high the term Festungs-Oberbaurat is.... would he be able to get KO3 + RAO4 ? That would make more sense then that they are missing....
Daniel Krause Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Yup, that is as well an nice group to fit. Festungsbau-Oberwart (not Rat) were the same types of Beamte like Zahlmeister. As far as I know, they are not in the Ranglisten until the corps of Festungsbauoffiziere were created. I check some Siekmanns, maybe they are in. Greetings Daniel
