Nice bar Rudi..... I would say we have two possibilities for the missing pieces:

    1. KO4 + AEZ2

    or

    2. KO3 + RAO4

seems to be the bar of a NCO and later official (some sort of...) , in my eyes - unfortunately - no (or nearly no...) way to find him ...

But again , very nice bar !!!

    Grüße

    Heiko

Doesn't anyone find that Hessen Order w/swords on the end a strange position for the combatant award?

    Claudius,

this medal bar is built up in a prussian mounting precedence - so this one in last place is the first "foreign" not prussian award on the bar...everything ok with it!

Thanks Daniel! Thought they would have received them, but it makes pretty sense.

So this must be (I agree with you it just screams) a Zahlmeister's ca. 1913 bar: New style long service award. In 1914 he probably would have received the XXV cross, as soon as he was allowed to.

Now just to check the rank lists for a guy with KO4, AEZ, HP4X...

Bad weather tonight..........could not sleep...........but I found no paymaster with that combination :(

Best suspect I can offer , maybe someone can check this with any source for a AEZ or RAO after 1905 , is :

    Festungs-Oberbauwart Demmerle from Mainz , listed in the DOA 04/05 with KO4 , EK2 , HssP5X , D70/71 and PrZM

I know the DA is missing , but the DOA is often not complete with all entries........

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm............let`s play a game............. he is a long serving old man...... what about the possibility (given that it is Mr.Demmerle) that it is not a AEZ missing but a KO3 + RAO4 - I don`t know how high the term Festungs-Oberbaurat is.... would he be able to get KO3 + RAO4 ? That would make more sense then that they are missing....

Yup, that is as well an nice group to fit.

Festungsbau-Oberwart (not Rat) were the same types of Beamte like Zahlmeister.

As far as I know, they are not in the Ranglisten until the corps of Festungsbauoffiziere were created.

I check some Siekmanns, maybe they are in.

    Greetings

    Daniel
