Paul R Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 The Anhalt bar seems to be a rarity! I have not seen too many of these medals around! Beautiful bars!
notned Posted January 23, 2006 Author Posted January 23, 2006 Thanks Paul! Yes i thought that the Anhalt on a medalbar was a bit hard to find....But we will need one of the learned Gents to shed more light on this..Lots of veiws...no comments......
Bob Hunter Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 It is tough to find Anhalt mounted. Nice bar!
Stogieman Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 Well, Anhalt is pretty hard to find. here's one with a "more Prussian" precedence that I have in my January Medal Bar Sale. The single FFK2 is pretty darn nice as well and quite unusual!
notned Posted January 26, 2006 Author Posted January 26, 2006 Hello Gents,I have a query as the Anhalt bar has arrived and is in my sweaty ( not really sweaty..) hands...The Bulgarian war medal...the finish is so bright it looks almost a fake! Now have these been faked( i think not as they are common as muck!) but the finish is weird....Anyone else care to comment? have the gents got examples of these to show?Thankings you kindly Paul
Stogieman Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 Looks fine Paul, the bar has some fade, maybe it was damp once upon a time. I am unaware of any fakes of the commemorative medals.
Guest Brian von Etzel Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 That's so nice seeing the Anhalt in first position.
Bob Hunter Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Take a closer look. The commemorative may have been gilded. We have seen that with Centennial medals and it really depends on the wearers pride and preferences back in the wild and wooly Weimar days.
Theodor Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 The Bulgarian commemorative medal looks correct. No, I do not think they have been faked. Simply they are like this, shiny even after bad storage.
Ulsterman Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Souval made Bulgarian war medals-but I doubt many. As far as I know the Bulgarian medal has not been faked -yet.You outbid me on that bar-well done.
joe campbell Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 what a nice combo, ralph!you've done nicely with this grouping!joe
JensF. Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 The bulgarian Commemorative Medal was made in high quality with fire gilt finish. They usually look like new and I never saw one in bad condition or quality. Don't worry.
notned Posted January 30, 2006 Author Posted January 30, 2006 Cheers Gents,Allayed my fears somewhat... Nice combo Ralph! love the Anhalt mini! Sweet!ulsterman...whats your e-bay monniker? so i wont step on your toes too often... RegardsPaul
Stogieman Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Hi Ralph, I have to echo Paul..... pretty special mini!! Nice bar too!
