A friend of mine recently aquired this tunic.

The Bavarian shoulder boards have been added and are not original to this tunic. There is no tag or name inside.

The colour of the piping suggests General Stab or perhaps Dragoner Rgt 11 or 12.

Any ideas to what unit the wearer could have belonged to?

    Hi Naxos,

.... The Bavarian shoulder boards have been added and are not original to this tunic. ....

... you know when they was added? I don't think this are bavarian shoulderboards!?

Maybe for a prussain Militär-Beamter (prussian Beamte had blue Durchzüge)!

The star is also for a Beamter, only the Wappen is missing! So the tunic is maybe

also for a Militär-Beamter!??????? I'm not sure, just an idea! ;) Best regards,

    Jens

Thanks Jens, I did not think of that!

The boards are very well sewn in - they could have been there for a very long time. The blue seems a darker blue then the Bavarian colour - the underlay is pink and the piping is more bordeaux in colour.

    ... sorry - I can't see the picture!?

If the Wappen is missing, than prussian Generalstab or Militärapotheker!?

    ;) Best regards,

I think this color is for Apotheker. With the Klappkragen, it can't be a Dragoner. I also think the boards are OK with the tunic. The color variation is probably due to the newer pattern M15 boards being added to a M07/10 tunic. Just the Wappen are missing, as Jens mentioned.
