Stogieman Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 I like the Meybauer pieces. Show us the seal!
stevo4361 Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 Nice cross dond, I was wondering, does the pin on your example "bend back" where it meets the catch? Congrats on the great cross!Kind Regards,Steve
dond Posted January 24, 2006 Author Posted January 24, 2006 Here is a profile scan.Rick, I can't get a good scan of the mark because of the curve.Don
Stogieman Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Drat. Would be a good example for all to see. It's the earlier, intricate stamp.

J Temple-West Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 I love the vaulting on that one, Don.Here's a cased example I've had for years..
Les Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 (edited) Sometimes you get lucky on ebay. I saw this cross a few weeks back, and liked the "character" it had, with the replaced brass pin and hook/closure. The pirce was dirt cheap. The auction photos were so-so, and I've retaken them so the details can be seen better. The original photo of the reverse hinted at something being in the centre of the cross, but there wasn't enough detail to determine exactly what was there. No one else bid on. I got it dirt cheap. Here's the (redone) photos that closely match the auction photos.... Edited February 2, 2006 by Les
Les Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 (edited) 'da backside...and look at the center closely Edited February 2, 2006 by Les
Les Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 (edited) I posted two of the reverse, above and deleted the second photo...so, here's the obverse. Sorry for the mistake...it's turning into "one of those days." Edited February 2, 2006 by Les
Les Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 ..anyway, after it arrived and I lifted the pin, the Meyhbauer maker marking was a pleasant thing to see.Les
