max1337
Pretty awesome thread. Very informative. Just trying to contribute a little bit here, sorry if this is a few month old reply. The solider in the photograph is wearing Republic of China uniform, early Beiyang republic era, not Japanese. Sorry Lambert, but I couldn`t help you with reverse tranlation. But I`ll try to make it up to you Here we have photo of japanese major ( ) with this (and many others) medal. http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?app=core&module=attach§ion=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=241471 Regards, Nick

Thanks a lot for correcting me Max! Indeed this is an early republic uniform. Looks like even later (during 20s) some cliques were using this uniform http://ironmarch.org/index.php?/topic/1717-chinese-warlord-army-and-their-uniforms/ Cheers, Nick
drclaw
Nick, the 2nd Class Rising Sun in #261. Is this Chinese made fake or Japanese "collectors copy"? I recall the Japanese copies are usually stamped and marketed as such.

paul wood
Surely even some of the more moronic E-bay trawlers wouldn't fall for that. Paul
