A new update is ready for delivery !

app 100 names , now with Grand Cross ( among them Hermann Göring ! )

another famous Sword Order winner was Karl Dönitz , with this I think I have about 90-95 % of all Germans with Sword Order from 1914-1945 what I miss is the earlier ones and maybe a few from the above time frame.

But I have already oredred a couple of new books ;) so I will return with more updates.

Hallo all , its been some time but now i have a lot of new names of german Officers with Swedish Order of the Sword , mostly awarded

in late 1800s. I think it will be app 100 names when I gone through the new lists.

The complete list contains about 700 names before this update most with surnames , if anyone want the complete list just let me know or if you just want the update .

Sorry to say my last email program crashed so i dont know who I sent to last year , so let me know again if you are interested ;)

The updated database is finished ! It took some time ;) But now it contains 1062 names of Germans who got the Swedish Order of the Sword in different grades.

I have two members who already said they want the new list , but I will be happy to send it to anyone who want a reserach tool , in most it have both First names and surnames , rank and state . It is in Excel format so its easy to handle.

The first listed award is in 1836 and the last in June 1939

Just mail me or write in the thread and I send a copy .

    Sunny regards from Sweden

What was the award year for Hauptmann Heinrich Wambold of K.P. Inf Rgt 28, please? The closest I could come was between Rank Lists of 1911 and 1912:

My only other "Swede" year question is for the later Konteradmiral Heinrich Kehrhahn:

Now that you've finished with the "sword," does that mean you can start on the "Vasa" and "North Star"?:cat:

I only have 1911 on Heinrich Wambold but Heinrich Kehrhahn was listed September 12th 1908 .

;) And Rick has a point , now I have to start with North Star and Wasa ... I must have something to do in the long dark autumn evenings in Sweden .

If I find some more updates to this list I let you all know .

    Thank Christer!

Yes indeed, LOTS of German dR/dL officers with the civil Swedish Orders... and no first names (or day jobs) in the Rank Lists. :banger:

These "little jobs" grow and grow and then  suddenly :wacky: it's too late and you have turned into a Research Gnome. :o

I started looking through old dusty books ;) for Wasa Orders and instantly found some interesting names ....

For Example : Wilhelm Mauser who got a Knight Wasa Order in 1878 , yes Mauser who together with his brother made the Gewehr 71

and the same factory that made the famous Gewehr 98 who is like the grandfather of bolt action rifles today.

    You her from me again
