gregM Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 (edited) Everyone who is interested in collecting or studying Iron Crosses by maker, should check out this thread and follow the link provided. http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/52690-diamonds-maker/ Just from the little bit posted, It calls into doubt who we believe made the AWS and CD 800 marked crosses and may help clear up the mystery of the "Silber" marked Ek2s. saschaw Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 I don't see anything called into question by now, at least nothing of the mentioned. But, nice findings. ;)
gregM Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 How do we know that the CD 800 crosses are from Carl Dillenius and not from Alfred Ringele?
Chris Boonzaier Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 There has long been a tendency to try and guess the stamps.... like WW1 EKs with FR as Franck and Reif... totally wild and wrong guess. Best Chris
gregM Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 (edited) I agree. A lot of assuptions have been made. Here is a image from the book showing the different makers marks. shown with permission from Kay at "Holland verzamelt.nl" Edited December 31, 2011 by gregM
saschaw Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 CD is one of the very few that are not only guessed but with some nice indication: a CD cross found in a blue paper by Dillenius. Not a proove - but more than this new find.
dond Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Who know when the cross was placed in the paper and by whom. We had the same problem with a PAB marked AS in a triangle that was found in an AD Schwerdt envelope.

Find me a CD cross in a Ringele paper and we're 1:1.
