A cool Order of Glory 3rd Class bar, with four other medals

Of notice in the research below is that this senior sergeant was highly decorated. He had an OPW2 and RS, which are actually annotated as lost. This would actually make this grouping complete! Paul stated that he had never seen the annotation of "Lost" next to an award entry in a person's records.

The Valor Medal is not on the Awards Record Card?

Yes... this entire group is a strange one.

The valor medal is not on the card, but it could have come later? The weird thing is that the ribbons are all very well worn and uniformly so. I have no doubt that they have been together for a very long time. Kinda weird!

I have never seen a set where the order numbers themselves were lost? Maybe they were awarded and the records were literally destroyed in a German offensive before they could be sent to their HQ?

You'll have to research the Valor Medal then to make sure it isn't a parts bar. I've got a couple of nice bars that seem all of a piece, but haven't researched them except for Lastovka's here in the back pages.

Does it mention an order booklet or temporary certificate in the third column? If that's the case, then the two orders were in fact awarded but then lost by the recipient.

I would research the Medal for Courage via its number, just to make sure it belongs on the bar.
