Ed_Haynes Posted August 3, 2006 Author Posted August 3, 2006 Order of the Vajra, 3rd class, 5th grade. It does seem to be of gilt bronze (someone has scratched this one on the reverse to find out!).
Ed_Haynes Posted August 29, 2006 Author Posted August 29, 2006 An early, Mongolian-made, first class, third (?) grade, of the Order of the Vajra. The badge is 53.5 mm across. It has had a hard life, though.
Ed_Haynes Posted April 15, 2007 Author Posted April 15, 2007 A very VERY bad photo of some Orders of the Vajra seen for sale in UB in March.
Ed_Haynes Posted April 21, 2007 Author Posted April 21, 2007 And a closeup of the 2nd class (one of the first observed badges of that class). Possibly 4th grade? Not a great image, sorry.Has ANYONE ever seen any photo of any of these in wear? Would probably be more likely come from pre-WWI Russia than from Mongolia??
Bob Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 a second class 4th grade one was sold by Kuenker in Germany last week for 2K Euro - I underbid :banger:

GREAKLY Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Well, another Order of the Precious Rod (aka Order of Vajra or Order of Tusalakchi Gun (its Mongolian name)), 2nd class (on the red ribbon) will be sold at the MedalHouse auction on October 17, 2009 in Helsinki, Finland. The order is made of gilded silver (with Imperial Russian hallmarks) and comes with original box of issue. Starting price is only 1000 Euro, but I am sure it will go much higher...
GREAKLY Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 In a little while the catalog should be available for download from www.medalhouse.com
Bob Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 In a little while the catalog should be available for download from www.medalhouse.com Is the catalogue available for download already?
Bob Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 2700 euros winning bid at medalhouse, anybody here the lucky one? my max bid was only just below it - too bad :banger:
Bob Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Not entirely the right thread but thought i'd pose the question here: the medal for valor of mongolia (i.e. old medal) of which apparently only one specimen exists (or has been found/photographed to date) - where is that one located? Thanks
DavidS Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Here are a couple of beauties from my Mongolian collection. First of all, 3rd Class, 4th Grade 1
Bob Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Appreciate if you could share more of your Mongolia collection here on GMIC - especially groups, documents and rare (numbered) awards.
