JapanX Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 (edited) These examples clearly demonstrate that most likely technical marks were used before “Монетный двор” mark and “Монетный двор” marks were stamped before final assembly of the order. Edited June 14, 2012 by JapanX
JapanX Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 Back to numbers ... Check out this “7” on very rare variation of 2nd class
JapanX Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 Interesting how different mark “7” will look when not properly stamped …
JapanX Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 But sometimes it not easy to figure out what this scratch means
JapanX Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 Specially for Paul additional examples of void, unstamped “8”
JapanX Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 Tech marks on other Soviet Orders Of course technical marks could be found not only on Orders of the Patriotic War, but I think no other soviet order bears more technical marks than 1st and 2nd class OPW’s. JapanX Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 Order marked “1” or with something very much alike
JapanX Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 Sometimes technical mark could be found even on obverse under the enamel! Take a look at the obverse of this Order of Red Star. Do you see it?
