JapanX Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 (edited) “Of particular note, this medal on offer, bearing the characters 'Special One' instead of the usual numbering, is unique as evidenced by a well-known photograph of Chiang Kai-shek wearing the flipped over medal revealing the characters,” the company (Spink & Son) said in its statement. We see the characters, but where is this "well-known photograph"? Edited August 24, 2012 by JapanX
JapanX Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 (edited) Yep, lower part looks like it is indeed doesn`t have the number Not to mention " ... spokeswoman for Spink & Son told that the medal has been confirmed by several experts to have belonged to Chiang" Where it came from?! "Several months ago, someone came to Spink & Son's Hong Kong branch seeking to auction this medal. The experts we turned to are certain that it is authentic," said spokeswoman for Spink & Son. Sounds reliable By the way, in 2011, a collector from Taoyuan also claimed to have Chiang's Order of Blue Sky and White Sun with Grand Cordon, which was purchased around 10 years ago at a cost of NT$8 million (US$267,053), the report said, adding that it was later sold to another person (sounds like there are too many Chiang`s orders ) So how much for the start? JapanX Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Come on dudes! Take a good look - it is exactly the same
JapanX Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Well, is it possible that this piece belonged to Generalissimo? It is possible ... but nothing more. Of course Generalissimo might owned several pieces during his lifetime. He really liked this order ;)
