Deruelle Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I have had this photo in my collection. It is interesting to see that he has chosen to wear only his wartime medals on his ribbon bar. Recently I have received same ribbon bar as seen on photo. Have a look. Here is a small bio of Senfft von Pilsach He received the following orders and medals. Neck Orders : Commander cross 2nd class of St Henry of Saxe, 28 August 1917, Commander cross 2nd class with swords of Albert Order of Saxe, 8 May 1918, Cross 2nd class with swords of Crown Order of Prussia, 25 September 1917, On his medal bar shown on this photo Knight cross of St Henry of Saxe, 3 June 1915, Knight cross 1st class with swords of Merit Order of Saxe, 31 October 1914, Iron cross 2nd class, September 1914, Others medals Knight cross 1st class of Albert Order of Saxe, 23 May 1908, Long Service medal for 25 years of Saxe, 1908 Cross 4th class of Red Eagle Order of Prussia, 8 April 1903, Knight cross 1st of Order of Philip of Hesse, 29 September 1906, Knight cross of Order of Rising Sun of Japan, 21 January 1901. Deruelle Posted December 19, 2012 Author Posted December 19, 2012 close up of the medal bar. You can see that the Merit Order knight cross 1st class with X is a pre-war model.
VtwinVince Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Fantastic photo, and very nice feldspange with provenance.
VJK Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Hi, Can anyone please give me his dates and places of birth and death, all I have is 1866 - 1937. To supplement his bio, he commanded the 19th Reichswehr Brigade from 1 Oct 1919 - 30 Sep 1920. Many thanks in advance, VJK
arb Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Wegner's "Stellenbesetzung der deutschen Heere 1815-1939" volume one gives his birthdate as 04.01.1866 but two years of death 15.07.1937 (page 333) and 15.07.1933 (page 820). Obviously a typo in one or the other. Andy
