    K & Q RK...

    Recommended Posts

...PDQ. Not too many people know I have this. I don't remember ever posting it anywhere, but now I'm pulling the body from the cellar.

I would scan some closeups, but how many K & Q RK's do you need to scrutinize? It's a "known" cross, one previous "celebrity" owner, w/Niemann COA and provenance.

    Enjoy.

Don, you are one of a very select group.

Note how the ribbon loop has "tarnished" the ribbon, which is obviously an EK2 variety. This would make sense especially in the case of the recipient; he was a tanker and those panzer uniforms had some pretty narrow collars. A pic of the recipient is to the rear of this shot. I put together a selection of all his listed decorations, and some of the other things he might have owned.

Also, see the picture of the German WW1 soldier in the helmet? A friend of mine took this picture in Germany back in the 70's. It is from a monument to the war dead, and is (I think) one of four heads each facing a compass point from beneath an obelisk... not sure.

But I have forgotten which monument!!!:shame: Someone help me out. The photographer waited by the monument all day, so as to get the setting sun's light right. It was worth the wait, it's a great picture... very somber and evocative.
