Chris Boonzaier Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Am I right in assuming this is 3. Komp 2. Garde Something? Thanks Chris
KIR Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Hi Chris, I read: "Herr Ob. Lt. Schimke - 3/2 Garde - Osten, den 20.2.17 - gehört mit zu unseren Gruppen." Maybe a closeup from the shoulderboard is helpful!? Best regards, Jens
Chris Boonzaier Posted May 3, 2013 Author Posted May 3, 2013 Hi, shoulderboard unfortunately not visable. The big Question...2 garde Gren, 2 Garde res, 2 Garde r.Z. Fuss ? Best Chris
Dave Danner Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Probably GGR 2, given the prominent photo of Kaiser Franz Josef, but maybe these two Kaiser photos were a common thing. I don't see an Oberleutnant by the name of Schimke anywhere, though. There was an Offizier-Stelllvertreter Schimke, promoted to Lt.d.L. in 1919, but that wouldn't be this guy.
The Prussian Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 (edited) What do you think about the base colours of the Litzen? Edited May 4, 2013 by The Prussian
Glenn J Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 He is a medical officer: Stabsarzt d.R. Dr. Schinke. Probably Dr. Alois Schinke of Landwehrbezirk Gleiwitz. Regards Glenn
