Stogieman Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Friekorps era (??) Looks like a Stahlhelm Badge, but what type? Anybody see one of these before? Colin's Pilot, not mine!
Bob Hunter Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 I didn't think it was possible to stump a Stogie!
Stogieman Posted February 17, 2006 Author Posted February 17, 2006 Well, I can see the helmet device on the center of da Boid, same device on his right collar tab and sure looks like Stahlhelm, but I must admit that arcane Friekorps & Vet organization emblems & awards escapes me.
Deruelle Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 For me this is not a Freikorps badge. I have look the Deutsche Freikorps from Lothar Hartung. No insignias like that. May be this book is not complete. I don't know. Probably not an official Stahlelm badge. Private or not ?RegardsChristophe
Guest Rick Research Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 It is indeed a Stahlhelm tinnie. I forget which annual meeting it was for.
Mike Dunn Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Stogie, it looks like a tinnie to me as well-is there any writing on it? Mike
Stogieman Posted February 17, 2006 Author Posted February 17, 2006 Cannot see anything in the photo I'm working from. Sorry!!
Ralph A Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 It is a Stahlhelm tinnie, as indicated. I think I have a copy - I'll check later.
Mike Dunn Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 (edited) It is from Berlin (letters on the upper wings) -on the helmet is the number 13 and R.F.S.T. It is found on Testies book Tinnies of the Reich page 38 (in my volume). Anyone Know what R.F.S.T stands for. Also no date mentioned. Mike Edited February 17, 2006 by Mike Dunn
