JapanX Posted June 15, 2013 Author Posted June 15, 2013 (edited) And of course these "framed" Nice example Edited June 15, 2013 by JapanX
JapanX Posted June 15, 2013 Author Posted June 15, 2013 Did the Veterans wear it? Of course they are! Here we have a couple of very nice photo evedence
JapanX Posted June 15, 2013 Author Posted June 15, 2013 Pretty unusual order of awards... To say nothing about the ribbon for auspicious clouds (looks like it is red cross medal ribbon )!
JapanX Posted June 15, 2013 Author Posted June 15, 2013 Then there are veteran bars like one that our colleague Brian has in his collection
JapanX Posted June 15, 2013 Author Posted June 15, 2013 That`s about it folks! If you have new types and variations - please add them to this gallery
mickey Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 thanks nick great info never seen one on a medal bar before
JapanX Posted June 20, 2013 Author Posted June 20, 2013 A nice example of "green ribbon with golden chrysanthemum" Standart black plastic box
Dieter3 Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 And of course these "framed" Nice example Did those finally sell, or are they still stuck on YJA? Remeber this "mysterious"? Hard to forget...... I recently saw the commemorative version of this with a gold mum. Here's another regular with a gold mum - do you think they were actually made this way? I think they were probably painted to sex them up to try to make more $$$$.
JapanX Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 Did those finally sell, or are they still stuck on YJA? Stuck? Such rare piece of history?! I recently saw the commemorative version of this with a gold mum. Here's another regular with a gold mum - do you think they were actually made this way? I think they were probably painted to sex them up to try to make more $$$$. Well, this "sexing up" looks more or less professional to me (although I don't like the looks of "sexing up" of pink ribbon). I am inclined to think that this is an "official" variation of "green ribbon" (influenced by 1928 Showa enthronement medal?). Do you have this one in your collection?

This is one is in my collection. Has original paper box and cello-wrapper too. The gold does look well-done, so maybe there is something to your theory and it is not just sexing it up...?? I've shown this one before, but I'll put it up again for this thread, Imperial Guard "edition": Edited June 23, 2013 by Dieter3

JapanX Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 Naaaa Simply too many "look alike" medals for one thread
