Noor Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Hi, One of my today's pick ups.... a great photo of some kind of "komandir" from 1942. Can someone please help me with his position and name behind please...
JapanX Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Sergeant major (master sergeant if you wish ) Kochurov Nikolay Kirilovich.
Noor Posted August 27, 2013 Author Posted August 27, 2013 Ah, thank you! Very impressive uniform anyway.... I was guessing much higher rank myself some how
JapanX Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 If these four were quadrangles he would be colonel
Noor Posted September 1, 2013 Author Posted September 1, 2013 Here are more photos that I found last month.... These are all Estonians who served during the WW2 in the 8th Estonian Rifle Corps. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/8th_Estonian_Rifle_Corps Especially I like the portrait with the man who has Order of Glory and Victory over Germany. First, on the back the note indicates a little town where originally I am from. Also dedication is pretty deep "In memory of difficult days, dark times".
Noor Posted September 1, 2013 Author Posted September 1, 2013 (edited) Here are few others from 1946-49 period Edited September 1, 2013 by Noor
Paul R Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Some say that one Sergeant Major/Master Sergeant is worth at least six colonels.
