Jani Tiainen Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 Dear Friends, This pair looks as good as it can, but I cant date the EK2. I would appreciate if someone knows from what period is the type in my pair. It came directly from the family so I would expect it to be original. (You still never know With best regards, Jani
Paul R Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 Great piece Jani. I am definitely envious. Still sad that a piece like this can stay with a family for over 140 years, just to be sold off. It seems as if kids do not value their heritage much anymore.
Streptile Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 Hi Jani, The 1870 EK2 is a replacement piece from the late 19th or early 20th C., possibly made by S&L.
Dave Danner Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 The combination of clasps fits certain Saxon units, primarily from the 23.Division: LGR 100 (less III.Btl.), GR 101, IR 102, IR 103 (less III.Btl.), IR 104, and HR 18. Most other Saxon units also qualified for the VILLIERS clasp along with these four.
Chris Boonzaier Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Tht EK2 Style is a new one for me... very cool ring system
