Odulf Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 For quite some time I have this post card size photo with two armoured vehicles, each with a gun turret. The decals lead me to believe these are German Panzer, and to my idea (and limited literature) the only candidate could be the "Leichter Traktor", dating from 1926. However, the vehicles in the photo are in many details different from the picture in my book [Die deutschen Panzer 1926-1945, F.M. von Senger und Etterlin]. Can any of the Genlemen shine a light on this, please?
Laurence Strong Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 I wonder if they are targets on a gun range? The reversed "Balkenkreuz" to me seems like aiming points....center of the rear and the turret....My thoughtsLarry
IrishGunner Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 (edited) Not an early German tank, but an early British tank! And probably marked with crosses for an exercise or targets! It's a British Mark VI A tank. See the photo from a book called "Panzer; Die Geschichte der deutschen Panzerwaffe in Zweiten Weltkrieg" by Niall Barr and Russell Hart. Auseklis Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 This is a photo taken from a diorama, isn't it?
The Prussian Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 I'd vote for british target tanks too. It's not a german Balkenkreuz
IrishGunner Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Auseklis, I also gave diorama a thought. It sure has that look

Spasm Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 (edited) Same as this one I believe. Apparently called a Gryphonne IV pattern Exterminator. Edited November 9, 2013 by Spasm
Auseklis Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Damn long time since I moved one of these around a battlefield...
