Tony Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 This might look good in the lounge http://www.ebay.de/itm/Messerschmitt-ME-Bf-109-G-Motor-DB-605-A-Cockpit-1944-45-kein-Bodenfund-/181315230930?pt=Militaria&hash=item2a373adcd2 Tony
Chris Boonzaier Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Anyone want to guess what it will bring ?!?!?!?!
Tony Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 Or the marital status (or soon to be marital status) of the bloke who gets the winning bid???
birkie Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 ......wow, not often something like this gets offered to the market. i would have a substantial list of questions before venturing into this one. Offered on ebay? I would think anyone owning this might want to make a more private, discreet deal with a well connected and well heeled collector........perhaps this has already been tried. Should be very interesting to see where this one settles out. Nonetheless, very very intriguing.
Paul R Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Look closely at the photo... there is a lot of Photoshopping there. Inside the cockpit... WOW!!!
Tony Posted March 3, 2014 Author Posted March 3, 2014 Yeah I noticed that but don't know why he did it as he explains which parts are original and which parts he made himself. So, nothing to hide really unless his workshop was very untidy. Tony
Paul R Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 It looks like a sweet piece. I would not know how to display it though.
Rogi Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Just park it in your local aviation museum Its an "homage" piece and I'm guessing with the price of airfair, this would be easier to build yourself at home (yeah I know how insane it sounds but with the right model prowess it is possible )Mostly collectors prize the originality of these piece or hash them up for re-use on current flying aircraft, and a F model on a G isn't that great, although interesting indeed. The canopy looks like a re-tool more in line with an E although far from perfect, especially on the front of the aircraft. The engine is missing a couple parts too unfortuntaley all fidgety ones and harder to find.
