Jock Auld Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Guys, I am pleased with todays efforts wading through a load of junk but it has paid off. I really like the sea plane! Jock
Bernhard H.Holst Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Man that plane is cool! Hello. Going from memory this is a Blohm and Voss plane. It was able to fulfill several purposes incl. observation, mine sweeping, transport and others. Unless memory tricks me as it does increasingly with age, it also transported refugees from East Germany during the closing days of the war. I have some reference and should look it up. Bernhard H. speedytop Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Hi, I think, that the seaplane is a Dornier Do 18, see e.g. the second picture in the row: http://evandrom.blogspot.de/2011/04/dornier-do-18-g-1d-2-172.html Uwe
Jock Auld Posted September 25, 2014 Author Posted September 25, 2014 Guys, Here is a scan which will be better than my photography skills, I think this shows it more clearly, I like the small war flag on the top like it's a boat rather than a plane. Jock
